Our Travel program is for players (and their families) interested in developing their abilities beyond our academy program and the town league program by graduating to onto one of our many travel teams. This travel program is for both boys and girls of all ages 7 to 19 years of age.
The Travel programs consists of players joining one of our birth year age group travel teams. These teams are coached by our licensed travel coaching staff and players will be developed in line with our clubs DNA through hard work to increased levels of soccer training and competition.
Travel soccer requires playing games outside the club in a local league with home matches on at recreation park and with travel to away matches against other clubs in the CT area. Generally speaking away games are within a 30 – 45 minute drive, although there are a few exceptions. Teams also look to attend travel tournaments which are at the club, coaches and teams choice to give players that genuine travel experience.
As a general rule Southington Soccer Club creates their travel teams in the summer of each year through open tryouts. Teams are formed for both boys and girls from U-8 to U-19. Some age groups may have two or more teams. Teams compete at various levels described depending upon the competitive needs of the players involved.
