Academy & Small Stars 2023

Welcome to our 2023 Spring Academy & Small Stars Program

Leading both programs will be our new Coaching Director, Tyler Turner, a former professional and US National Player. Joining Tyler will be various other coaches and volunteers.

The Academy season will start on April 17 and will end on June 8 .
The Small Stars season will start on April 19 and will end on May 26.
The program will be:
• 8 weeks for the Academy Program
• 6 weeks for the Small Stars Program
We may add additional days if we have cancellations due to weather. (Sessions will be held in light rain). All sessions will be held at Recreation Park - field 2.

Academy
Practice\Game Days
This is a twice a week program, please attend only 1 of the 1st training session you registered for & Thursday game day.
• Mondays or Tuesdays 6-7pm
• Thursdays 6-7 p

Small Stars
Practice\Game Days
This is a once a week program, please attend only the one 1 session you registered for.
• Wednesdays or Fridays

Practice\Games Times
Please note the times based on your child's Birth Year
• Players Born in 2019-2020 5:00pm – 5:45pm
• Players Born in 2018 6:00pm – 6:45pm

There is a strict dress & equipment requirement that must be met at all times for the safety of the children participating. Please make sure your child wears black shorts, black socks, and shin guards (which have to be worn under the socks). The socks must be soccer socks and must cover the entire shin guard. We will provide a shirt that must be worn at each session. Please also have your child bring a size 3 or 4 soccer ball and a water bottle (recommended that soccer ball and water bottle have child’s name on them).

The following safety regulations must be followed by all players. No jewelry (earrings, bracelets, necklaces, hair pins or any other metal, plastic or hard materials in their hair). No long pants, leggings or hooded shirts. The unfortunate result of not abiding by the dress & equipment code will result in the child not being able to participate in that session.

For any possible cancellations that may occur throughout the season please consult our website (http://www.southingtonsoccer.org) after 3pm of that given date for a message regarding the program status. We will also send out an email.

Parents/Guardians: We ask that you refrain from yelling instructions from the sidelines. Encouragement and applause are very much appreciated. All parents and guests are asked to stay behind the brown fence (guardrail) during these sessions. Please be on time to pick up your child at the field of play at the completion of every session.
