On Sunday September 25, 2022, we will have our 13th Annual “Soccer Kicks Back” drive. We ask EVERY player, to bring a minimum of 3 nonperishable items to their game either at Recreation Park or Southington High School, to help the Southington Community services Food Pantry.
Lots of families need our help, Community Services has about 70 families to feed per week. We will have a tent at the upper fields at Recreation Park where you can drop off your donations that day. During the week, before the 25th, we will have boxes inside our garage at the soccer field house where you can drop off your items as well. Soccer Club players can bring it to their practices the week of the 19th.
Last year was a great success, some of our players and their parents collected food on their street from their neighbors, asking them to leave a bag with items at their curb on a special day early morning. If you would like to make a financial contribution, please make checks out to Southington Community Services. Cash donations will also be accepted.
The following items are in great need:
- KIDS SNACKS for school
- Tuna Fish
- Baby items (shampoos, baby oil, etc)
- Pasta Sauce
- Pasta
- Juice boxes
- Chef Boyardee can goods
- Jelly
- Peanut butter
- Soups
- And any other can type foods.
We thank you in advance for your help, and we hope we can set a record. With approximately 750 children involved within the Southington Youth Soccer League and The Southington Soccer Club we believe we can substantially help those in need in our own town.
